Only the people your community came for can answer — because who answers is often more important than the answer. And everyone gets that answer, not just the person who asked. The longer cut. The real Q&A problem isn't getting answers. It's getting their answer. Anywhere else online, anyone can answer anything. A pile of opinions from strangers, ranked by votes or an algorithm. You walk away with "an answer" — and no real reason to believe it. When you ask a question, the person who answers matters at least as much as what they say. You don't want "an answer." Whoever your community came for: a podcaster, a leader, a founder, an expert. You choose. No credentials required — they just have to be worth asking. The longer cut. The internet keeps telling you to defer to experts. Sometimes that's right. Often, it isn't. The person your community actually wants to hear from might not be the one with the credentials. It might be the podcaster you listen to every week. The founder whose product you use. The author whose book changed how you think. The team lead your people trust. Expertise isn't the bar. Trust is. Your community came to hear from a specific group of people. Those are the ones who should answer.

Can people ask anonymously?
Yes, if you turn it on for your Room. Anonymous askers can quietly claim their question later by signing in — so they still get notified when the chosen few answer. The longer cut. Some of the best questions are the ones people are embarrassed to ask. The new employee who doesn't want to look new. The patient who doesn't want to look uninformed. The reader who's afraid the question is "too basic." If they can't ask without their name on it, they don't ask. And the question they didn't ask is usually the one a hundred other people in your community also didn't ask. If you turn anonymous on in your Room settings, those questions can finally land. The asker can quietly claim them later from their account — no awkward gatekeeping, no lost notifications. You don't have to allow it. But for a lot of communities, it's the single best thing you can switch on.

How do I start a Room?
Hit Start a Room, name it, pick your colors, invite your chosen few. A setup checklist walks you through the rest. The longer cut. Most setup flows make you fill out a form before you've done anything real. Not this. Name your Room. Pick your colors. Invite the people your community came to hear from. A checklist sits in the corner so you always know what's next: invite your panel, open your first topic, ask the first question. You can be taking your first questions before lunch.

How do I invite my panel?
Settings → People → add them by email. If they're not on Askery yet, they get a pending invite and join automatically when they sign up with that address. The longer cut. Inviting people to most platforms is a small disaster. You generate a link. You hope they click it. You hope they figure out the sign-up. You hope they find your thing on the other side. On Askery, you put in an email. That's it. If they have an account, they're on your panel. If they don't, they get a pending invite — and the moment they sign up with that email, they're in. No funnels. No follow-ups. No telling them which button to click after they make an account. A panel is people you trust. Inviting them should feel like that, not like onboarding a SaaS user.

Can I make my Room private?
Yes — three settings: public (listed on Discover), unlisted (link-only), or private (members only, or anyone on an approved email domain). The longer cut. Not every conversation belongs in the open. A company town hall isn't the same as a public AMA. A members-only community isn't the same as a marketing channel. So Askery gives you three settings instead of one. Public puts your Room on the Discover page. Unlisted takes it off — anyone with the link can see it, but nobody stumbles across it. Private locks the door: only your members get in, or anyone on an email domain you approve (great for opening a Room to your whole company without inviting them one by one). Change it any time. The Room is yours.

What happens when my question gets answered?
You get a notification and an email — and the answer shows up in the Room for everyone at the same moment. The longer cut. Most platforms make you keep checking. Refresh, refresh, refresh, until eventually you give up and forget you ever asked. Not here. The moment one of the chosen few answers your question, you get a notification and an email — with the question, the answer, and one tap to read it in full. (If you asked anonymously, sign in and claim it — same notifications.) And because the answer is for everyone, the rest of your community gets it at the same time. The next person with the same question doesn't have to ask.

How do timed topics and town halls work?
A timed topic opens a window — great for live debates, AMAs, election nights, product launches. Questions flow in while it's open; the chosen few answer; when the window closes, the conversation is preserved. The longer cut. Some of the most interesting conversations have a clock on them. A live debate. A two-hour AMA. The night of an election. The morning after a product launch. A timed topic creates that clock. It opens when you say, closes when you say, and tells everyone exactly when. Questions flow in. Hearts push the best ones up. The chosen few answer in real time while the room is full. When the window closes, the conversation doesn't disappear — it stays as the record of what happened. Future visitors can read it like they were in the room.
