Can people ask anonymously?

Yes, if you turn it on for your Room. Anonymous askers can quietly claim their question later by signing in — so they still get notified when the chosen few answer.

Some of the best questions are the ones people are embarrassed to ask.

The new employee who doesn't want to look new. The patient who doesn't want to look uninformed. The reader who's afraid the question is "too basic." If they can't ask without their name on it, they don't ask. And the question they didn't ask is usually the one a hundred other people in your community also didn't ask.

If you turn anonymous on in your Room settings, those questions can finally land. The asker can quietly claim them later from their account — no awkward gatekeeping, no lost notifications.

You don't have to allow it. But for a lot of communities, it's the single best thing you can switch on.
